California & State Privacy Notice

Last updated: July 31, 2026

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"). It also describes rights that residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana — may exercise in substantially the same way.

Notice at collection

We collect the categories of personal information listed below for the business and commercial purposes described, and we retain each category for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and to meet legal, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution requirements.

Categories of personal information we collect

  • Identifiers — name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address, and online identifiers.
  • Customer records information — contact details you submit in an inquiry or advertising form.
  • Protected classification characteristics — age or age range, where you choose to provide it. (We do not seek health diagnoses or medical records; please do not send them.)
  • Commercial information — the products or coverage types you express interest in.
  • Internet or network activity — pages viewed, clicks, referring pages, session data, and interaction with our advertising.
  • Geolocation data — approximate location derived from IP address or ZIP code you provide.
  • Audio information — call recordings and call metadata, where calls are recorded.
  • Inferences — preferences and interests drawn from the above, used for advertising measurement.

Sources

Directly from you; automatically from your device through cookies, pixels, and call-tracking technology; and from advertising networks, marketing partners, lead providers, and publicly available sources.

Business and commercial purposes

Operating and securing the website; responding to inquiries; connecting interested consumers with licensed insurance agents, agencies, and marketing partners; marketing and advertising, including measurement and attribution; fraud prevention; and legal compliance.

Disclosure and "sale" or "sharing"

We disclose the categories above to service providers, to licensed insurance agents, agencies, insurers, and marketing partners, and to advertising and analytics partners. Our disclosure of identifiers, internet activity, geolocation, and inferences to advertising partners, and our transfer of consumer contact information to marketing partners, may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA and comparable state laws. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.

Sensitive personal information

We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not use or disclose it beyond the purposes permitted by CCPA/CPRA section 7027(m) that do not require an option to limit.

Your rights

  • Right to know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — where applicable.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.
  • Right to appeal — if we deny your request and you live in a state that provides an appeal right, you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will respond within the period your state's law requires.

How to submit a request

Email contact@allowanceconnection.com with the subject line PRIVACY REQUEST (or DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION for an opt-out). Include the right you are exercising, your full name, the email address and phone number you used with us, and your state of residence.

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, which we may extend once by an additional 45 days with notice to you. We must verify your identity before disclosing or deleting personal information; we will match the details you provide against our records and may ask for additional information. We will not use information provided for verification for any other purpose.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We may require written permission signed by you and may still verify your identity directly with you, unless the agent provides a valid power of attorney.

Opt-out preference signals

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other recognized universal opt-out preference signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device transmitting the signal. Because these signals are browser- and device-specific, enable the signal on each browser and device you use.

Third-party marketing (California "Shine the Light")

California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, email contact@allowanceconnection.com with the subject line SHINE THE LIGHT.

Minors

This website is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect, sell, or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
